The project consisted of major maintenance works to 10 bridges over 12 miles of the A1 motorway at Catterick, North Yorkshire, UK. The maintenance works were successfully completed within 12 weeks.

The maintenance works included ‘jacking up’ bridge decks and refurbishing bearings, waterproofing and resurfacing bridge decks, and painting bridge deck structural steelwork.

A new system for ‘jacking up’ bridge decks was developed on this project.
