Far Eastern Plaza

Taipei, Taiwan

AsiaBuild

Project Management

At the time of its construction, the US$400 million Far Eastern Plaza was one of the largest and most technically complex buildings undertaken in Taiwan.

The twin 42-storey towers provide 170,000 m2 of high quality office accommodation, Taipei’s premier luxury hotel with 450 rooms operated by Shangri-La, a 6 storey podium housing prime retail, swimming pools, restaurants, function rooms and a 5-storey basement with parking for 700 cars.

The building was designed to withstand both typhoon and earthquake loading and was constructed using the ‘top down’ method.

The client’s brief was to provide a building of the highest quality. AsiaBuild planned and controlled all aspects of the work, through design development, construction, fit-out and final commissioning and operating stages.
